The traditional venue draws inspiration from local Emirati culture.
Sharjah, there’s a new hotel in town. Najd Al Meqsa is a heritage hotel located in Wadi Shis. The new destination makes the most of its glorious location and includes views of the Hajar Mountains. So, if you’re looking for a stay with a difference, here’s what you need to know.
Najd Al Meqsa looks like a cross between a Disney castle and a fortress. Created by Surooq Sharjah, the hotel is situated in heritage village, and boasts beautiful views of the rolling mountains. The hotel is home to five villas with double beds, and two villas with two single beds. Plus, it includes a restaurant inspired by local Emirati food and outside guests are welcome to visit.
Najd Al Meqsa’s layout is on a range of levels and includes rooms situated within the rocks, winding roads, and nooks as well as crannies with seats. The rooms boast an old-school aesthetic with ceiling fans, stone walls, thatched roofs and wooden features and traditional carpets. The neutral colour palette includes beige, browns and whites.
Sharjah is fast becoming a dazzling destination. The area has welcomed a range of new cafés and restaurants. Elsewhere café draws inspiration from outer space, and Persian restaurant Berenjak has expanded from London to Sharjah. La Brasseria Bistro has opened in the mountain region at the Hanging Gardens, and Habib Beirut is a Lebanese restaurant near Khorfakkan Waterfall.
Najd Al Meqsa room prices are available from AED 1,000 per night, and are open for bookings. Check in with FACT for more details.
