GANT launches SS21 Collection

The new collection reclaims GANT’s signature preppy style while taking inspiration from city life.

This Spring Summer 2021, leading lifestyle brand GANT reclaims the preppy style, a look it pioneered 70 years ago, which continues to be a timeless fashion trend today. The menswear and womenswear collections, which launch across all GANT stores this March, features exploration through utopian shapes and urban architecture. 

Taking inspiration from the angular, geometric shapes found in Brutalist architecture and the boldly coloured coastal-inspired garments from the brand’s archive, GANT has created a collection that reinvents the iconic preppy look from the 1980s and 1990s for today’s streets. The resulting collection showcases retro preppy heritage through canary yellow trousers, bucket hats, 80’s denim jackets, and reinvented interpretations of the classic GANT polos and shirts in bold primary hues for the men. In terms of womenswear, the collection focuses on striped sports-inspired cardigans, checked-trenches in bold primary hues and painterly pleated skirts in bright yellow, bold red, crisp white and jet black.

Maritime flags also inspire the SS21 collection and have a historical significance. As a brand founded on the American East Coast, GANT has long incorporated nautical themes into its collections. Just like the unique messages these flags represent, GANT aims to inspire individuality and uniqueness while promoting a modern take on preppy for the season with an air of sports-luxe that covets a relaxed approach through the likes of “roughed weather” outerwear, knit zipped jumpers, and rugby polos. 

The resulting seasonal collection paints the town in a bold palette. Think vivid subway tiles to the aisles of a supermarket, the first drop of SS21 celebrates colourful city life, bold statement dressing and playful fashion expressions.

Born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1949, GANT’s heritage is forever intertwined with the American East Coast. From sailing the majestic Cape Cod National Seashore to colourful fall hikes in the North East’s wilderness, the brand has always been connected to and inspired by the beauty and traditions of America’s great outdoors. 

The GANT Spring Summer 2021 collection will be available in stores and online from March 2021.
